I was quite tired when I arrived at Corinth on the afternoon of the 18th June, and it was good to see familiar faces at the hotel, a warm welcome and a favourite room overlooking the harbour and the mountains beyond.

I took my usual walk along by the harbour, all familiar now, and bright and sunny, where previously stormy.  The only problem was that there was no bustle, nor did the atmosphere improve as the evening approached.  I wanted a light meal, and could only find cafe bars and a couple of fast food places.  Corinth has never been especially good for tavernas because it is a commercial port.  It has  several small bars and cafes but the number of traditional tavernas seems to have dwindled year by year and when I eventually found one, it was small and with just three tables on a very narrow street.
Still the people were friendly and kind.

Had I walked to the new seafront area I would have seen the large new bars, but I was too tired.  Possibly there are also larger places to eat further into the town so next time maybe I should explore more.

I slept well though, as always here, and was able to eat breakfast at the hotel next morning before taking a taxi the short distance to the suburban railway station, from where I made the journey to the international airport, for my flight back to Gatwick.

So ended another trip to the Peloponnese, and a very sunny, colourful and happy one!
