After our late night on Saturday we all slept in pretty late on Sunday morning. Yayy!! Danie offered to make us breakfast and teach us how to make soup and crepes for lunch. For breakfast we had soft boiled eggs and buttered toast. I'm going to have to try to make those at home, but apparently it is kind of hard to do when you just boil them because they overcook. Danie has this cool egg boiler that she made them in. I had never heard of soft boiled eggs before, so when she said egg to dip toast in I was picturing sunny side up eggs, but this was just as good!
After that Kellie and I took Max, Lynn and Sam to the market with us to get some ingredients for our Valentine treat we wanted to make. Let me just say, now I understand why Danie doesn't bring them to the market with her and why they wanted to go so badly! They wanted everything!! We made Max call and ask before he bought anything though. He wanted sprinkles really badly, which since he purchased are nearly gone now. Ew, I don't like sprinkles so I don't understand the fascination. This morning Sam and Lynn put sprinkles on their bread haha! But yes, shopping with kids, brings me back to taking kids out in public while babysitting...stressful!
After we got back from the market I was a little tired and decided to go catch up on all the TV i missed while I was in Spain instead of learn to make lunch. I fully participated in eating it though, and Kellie and Jordan said I could come to their house in Oxford and then would make it for me! We had a vegetable soup, but not like broth with whole veggies in it, more like puree veggie soup and then you add cream and this stuff that taste a little like soy sauce called Maggi, and sausage if you want. I didn't want haha. Then was the crepes! We had a huge stack of them in the middle of the table and ate all but 3. I had one with Nutella and bananas and one with apple sauce and brown sugar, so good and apparently pretty easy to make!!
After lunch we spent a little time with the kids and then Danie asked us if we wanted to go on a walk with her. Sam rode his bike and we switched off pushing Lynn in the stroller while we walked through Noertzange. I had never really been much past our house because we live right off the train stop, so I was finally getting to see the town. It really is mostly houses though, and 2 bars and a cafe and a church. The walking paths were nice though, somewhere Id want to run in the spring possibly!
We got home and had some down time where Sam decided to come hang out with me in our room. Fist we played some Star Wars and George of the Jungle computer games and then we played on the photo booth on my Mac, You can see the pictures for yourself! Then it was dinner time and we heated up some leftover Mac and Cheese for dinner and Danie showed us how to use the leftover crepe, some broth and frozen veggies to make another soup for dinner. So simple, yet so delicious! After dinner Kellie and I made our treat for Valentines day which was a brownie pie! It smelled delcious and we even did home made pie crust and made it the shape of a heart and bought ice cream and fudge to go with it! We ate it yesterday while babysitting for Danie and Carlo so they could go see a movie for Valentine's Day! We tried to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but all 3 of us fell asleep half way through. Successful Valentine's Day in my opinion
This is more of a typical weekday for me when Im not off exploring Europe (except with classes thrown in there too of course) so I'm glad I was able to share it with you all! It sounds super fun doesn't it? Well believe me, it is!
I have more pics to add to this one so check back soon!
