What cruise blog would be complete without talking about the food?

Let's just say we ate everything everywhere. Or at least that’s how it felt. But as Derek said in the an earlier post we were only two floors down from the buffet so we certainly frequented that a lot. Generally we spend dinner in one of the two main Restaurants, Taste and the New York inspired Manhattan Room. Both of these places were sit down and the Manhattan Room was at the very back of the ship with three story high windows looking out the Stern where we spent multiple nights listening to live music while watching the sun fade into the distance. We also enjoy O’Sheehans which was an Irish pub style restaurant which was open 24 hours, this of course came in handy during some of nights more than others but the food was always hot and the service fast whether it was 1 am or pm. Derek discovered Sheppard’s Pie here and well, go figures, his world has been changed. J There were many specialty restaurants around the ship some including an extra surcharge to dine there but we never seemed to need to check most of these out. I did enjoy a little a la carte sushi which again was life changing but for the most part we would check out the menu that was posted during the day and pick how dressy we wanted to get and just go from there. Derek especially liked to get food from the Great Outdoors Café which was on the outside portion of the deck directly in front of the pool and water park. They were almost always open and would stay open at off times and late into the night so this along with 24hr Room Service pretty much guaranteed that all our hearts desired. Thank goodness for the fitness center, which was amazing, or perhaps Derek and I would look like a couple of whales at this point.

Additional entertainment and goings on:

Beyond eating and going to shows we spent a lot of time enjoying the other aspects that the ship had to offer. Every night along with your towel animal and potentially a time change notice card (we got 6 over the duration) you would get the daily bulletin for the following day. Honestly it’s pretty impressive the amount of things they including from language classes, mixers, fitness classes, movies, featured cultural food tasting, beer and wine tasting, games, art shows, bowling, spa tutorials, rock climbing, sports tournaments and much much more there was always something one could although pulling Derek off the balcony was sometimes a challenge. I’d say we spent the largest portion of our time lounging by the pool and water park area while Derek spent a majority of this time riding all of the three waterslides over and over again.  He was also a rock climbing fool and we did play a little soccer and basket ball however neither of us is going to be drafted into the NBA anytime soon, thank goodness for the netting that surrounded the court. The fitness area was amazing, and I think that you should always get to work out while watching water go by, Derek did not always feel the same when he was playing pool though. I made a little money in the casino which was enough to cover the little that Derek lost but for the most part we kept ourselves entertained by the free attractions. Besides all of the scheduled shows most evenings there were scheduled parties and I’m not sure what exactly gets into people once they get out on the open water but we had a great time at each of those we frequented if for no other reason than people watching. I’d say I liked the White Hot Party best where you were encouraged to wear all white and the dancers and bar staff were in white angle wings. There was also a pool at the back of the boat which had a large screen behind it and at night they would make it an adults only area and put a dance floor over the pool. Bands would play here live or they would project things on the screen or have D.J.s play over  corner of the pool. We spent some time out there and had fun being over water while surrounded by water.

It’s safe to say we enjoyed ourselves and while we were more than excited to see the family it was a little sad to say goodbye. Luckily Derek had the breakfast buffet to ease his concerns before we headed off the boat in Barcelona only a day away from Germany and seeing my parents and the Mockoski party-of-three!!

At last you'll join up with the Mockbundts! You Delleks have started a trend. We Compils have our trip Across the States with Motel 6 starring Earless, Fearless and Peerless all planned and booked, July 12 through the 17th. How will we refer to you now? The Mockdelbundts? The Mockdebundts? Which sort of has the cadence of rock the house.
