Derek and I are pulling in for a little tailgating and then some Texas concert awesomeness!! You can check out where we are in our day from the info below (remember the two hour time difference). I've never gotten an event timeline sent to me the day before. I gave Derek these tickets for our 5th yr. of being together back in Jan. and it helped shape our trip up to this point. I'm not sure he could be more excited! He's got the hat, I've got the shoes and we both have the plaid so I guess we're set. Think good thoughts as we attempt go cowboy it up for the next 6+ hours...yeehaw y'all!!!

I'm finding it a little difficult to put into words the excitement that I was feeling before, during and after this concert. First of all, anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge Cowboys fan and the chance to visit their stadium is a once in a lifetime experience! The stadium is so huge that you can see it from miles away as you're driving in, but when you get right up to it the size is unbelievable. I told Della this ranked right up with the first time I saw the Eiffel Tower in person, I will never forget either!

The feeling of being surrounded by 60,000 singing, clapping fans as the sun goes down and the dome opens up to the night sky is truly something that has to be experienced! If you've ever gone to a concert and wished it would never end, this would have been the show for you. Della was a little unsure that she was going to have the stamina needed to maintain the enthusiasm for all the performers given the length of the show but honestly we barely even noticed. Since we had gotten the line-up before hand we had an idea of what to expect and the nonstop music accented by 15 minute breaks between acts making it just long enough to grab a restroom break or some food was all we needed. While Kenny Chesney was the main bill, all the acts were standout in their own right. Billy Currington, his guitar and his laid back style were so fun to watch while Zac Brown Band was more than entertaining and his personal talent along with that of the rest of his band, especially his fiddle player were inspiring (they did a rendition of Devil Goes Down to Georgia which would rival the original any day)!! And then there was Kenny (I get the sense he's the kind of guy who would want you to call him by his first name). What's even to say? He was more than amazing and the kind of performer who makes it seem like he just invited you in to a studio recording and he's just playing for the sense of playing, for the real love of music and to make his fans proud. The music didn't stop when Kenny Chesney was done, because it was followed up with a half hour encore that included all of the performers and a few others that were not on the bill, songs morphed in to others and just when you thought the stadium lights were coming back on he'd give another high-five to Zac Brown and off they'd go again. It all ended in an almost 10 minute stint where each of the band members where highlighted in their own right while their lead singers ran up and down the stage signing whatever was thrust their way. When the music really ended at almost 11, it was hard to take one last look around the stadium and make our way back down to the lower level. It was an absolutely amazing night, and probably the best anniversary gift I've ever been given! We had so much fun, its hard to believe its over!
