Since I have been swamped by school, I just can't wait to get out into the big wide world of having to do nothing but eat, dance and write the occasional blog entry. And by occasional I mean weekly, because it will be one of the only tasks I have to do, and will therefore be able to dedicate my time and energy to it. Really I will.
I don't have much news now, for unfortunately I am stuck at home with Strep, but I write this lovely reminder that I am alive to shout and skip and otherwise freak out about the fact that I am leaving in 40 days (counting today). That's right. 40. And if I'd given it any though I would have published this two days ago, and it could have been 42....But that's beside the point. The point is: Not much at all. It's a terrifying prospect to say the least! The only comforting thing is that, apart form flip-flops, hundreds of copies of passport photos, prescribed medications and copies of my important documents, I am absolutely ready to leave.
As soon as I get to Cali, on the 16the of December, I will start packing, and that will be an exciting day. It will also be the day I ask a friend or two to abuse my pack, to make sure I packet it well. I'm accepting volunteers. And if anyone is in the ares who likes to sew things on to other things, I would love o personalize said pack to make it look a little more travel-worn from the start. For apparently the mantra goes "The shinier the pack, the more the thieves drool."
So I think that's all I can blabber about regarding preparations for my trip. As a class project I am writing a guide for getting ready for a backpacking trip around the world, and will post a copy here just as soon as I'm done. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying your leftovers, I know I am.
