Perhaps the worst part of traveling is getting there. I had a 4 hour drive to NJ to stay the night at the coordinator's house. Then, we all met up at Rutgers the afternoon of the 13th and finally made it to JFK by 6:30pm. There is no doubt about it - traveling involves a lot of waiting and requires a lot of patience. I have been on the go for over 24 hours and still have not reached the final destination.
Upon arriving to the airport I learned that my name was spelled wrong on the group itinerary. It didn't cause too much of an issue - just made me anxious and nervous. The flight from JFK to London Heathrow was uneventful. I didn't like that the movies just played on a central timer. I like to pick the movies at my own pace. So, I opted for the next best thing...sleep.
I slept 95% of the way only waking to eat the late night dinner. I remember being served breakfast and woke up only to find my meal had been revoked. You snooze you lose is an understatement in this instance.
We are on the last leg of this part of the journey. Our flight to Accra leaves at 2pm from gate A10. We should arrive a little before 9pm and will have an evening of fun the first night! I can't wait.
