It was a dark and stormy day... cliches and bad writing abounded.
After 12+ hours of packing, Julia and I are about to start off down the road. By my count, it'll be 40 days until we return. Jealous much? We hope to update this blog every day or two, adding pictures and multi-syllabic words. If you don't want to be deluged with 1000 pictures and 20 pages of writing when we return, check back often or just subscribe (there should be a link around this page somewhere for RSS & email signups).
Cable and internet is getting cut in a couple hours, so the first travelog goes out a bit early. First stop, Trader Joe's! Julia loves that place. She especially loves the nuts (cue: Marsha).
We'll also take a detour to the Northfield-Mt. Hermon School in Northfield, MA. As you know, we're moving there in about six weeks. I'm moving there sight unseen, so Julia is gonna give me a little tour of the campus. I'm especially excited to see the hedge maze.
After that, it's on to Chichester, NH. Our good friend Karalyn had a baby 2 weeks before our wedding, so was unable to attend. So we're bringing the party to them! And the rain, apparently. Sorry lil' Braden. Your first weeks of life are like your diapers - soggy and kinda smelly. Curiously, if the parents of infants at our wedding are any indication, your parents (Karalyn and Ray) will have no problem sticking their noses right in there while we sit there aghast and agape.
This looks tempestuous:
We'll let you know how the first leg worked out in a day or two!
