The day before we organized with David that if the weather was ok we will go to Mount Blanc. We were very lucky and we woke up with he best weather in weeks.

We drove to Mount Blanc. It took us approximately 1 hour. The drive to Mount Blanc is quite enjoyable. The final half of the trip is though the mountains and The view is just fantastic! Also, he from of mount Blanc from the highway is really spectacular.

Mount Blanc is 4,800 m (aprox) above the sea level. It is the highest mountain in Europe.

We took the cable car to the top of the mountain. We couldn't go the last 50 m because the last bit of the cable car was under maintenance. Honestly, it didn't matter. The view from that point was more then enough.

The temperature at the top was of minus five Celsius. The good thing is that David told us to wear several layers of clothes.

A Lot of people go there to ski with a parachute, hike etc. It was pretty impressive to see them leave the barriers into the white snow and eventually ski off down the extremely steep hill and take off with their parachute. Eventually they land again and take off again. It looks like a lot of fun.

After a while our extremities started to get cold and walking up stairs was a bit exhausting. We decided to head back down for lunch. On the way down in the cable car we were separated from David and Kieren by a group of Americans who didn't want to squish up to let more people in. Half way down Kieren made eye contact with me from the other side and asked in an American accent 'Do giraffes hunt in packs?'. This was a running joke which I can explain later if you're intrigued by the stupidity of the question.
