This morning we slept in again. Yay!

First, We went to a local bakery for breakfast. Yum! After breakfast, We walked around Dijon for a bit. It is quite curious how the touristic route is indicated in Dijon. There are little owls depicted in the floor which indicate the route to follow and the main attractions. There is also an owl in one of the pillars of the church of Notre Dame which gives you good luck if you touch it with the left hand. We wanted to walk around Dijon a bit more before heading off towards Annecy, but it was raining a lot. So we drove towards Annecy on the route touristique - grand crus de Bourgogne. But before leaving, we stopped at the bakery and cheese shop to get something for lunch.

By the time that we reached the touristic route it was 12pm. This is a problem in France. Everything closes at 12 and opens again at 2pm. Therefore, we followed the touristic route enjoying the landscape. We had our picnic lunch at the car because of the rain.

Our first winery was in one of the castles in Savigny-Les-Beaunes. The wines were great, but the service was better. The guy at the counter made our visit very enjoyable. From there we visited another winery on the way to Annecy.

Once in Annecy, we had dinner with our friends Cecilia and David at their place. We were a bit late, but it was quite handy that their place is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We had Raclette. The Raclette involves an electric table-top grill with small pans, known as coupelles, to heat slices of raclette cheese in. It's just awesome.
