When we knew that we were going to be in South America, I was so excited cause one of my Bucket list places to visit would come true. Machu Picchu.I knew of a good friend and her husband who had visit Machu Picchu the month before we took our trip in October and She helped me with a lot that made the trip much easier.  As my husband Matthew could not take more that 4 days we really had to be selective in making sure we really planned the trip well so we would not miss out on much.

Our main goal was of course spending a fair amount of time in Machu Picchu.  So our trip was not very long, 4 night and 5 days.  If you do want to stay at the Sacred Valley or do the Inca trail then of course you need more time.

Day one we flew Lan to Lima, Peru, we were met by guide and then taken to our Hotel in Mira Flores.  Which is a really nice area of Peru.  We checked in then went for a long walk and found a lovely restaurant over looking the square in downtown Mira Flores.  The city was just like any other Capital city, you had the financial district and then the shopping and fashion district and the touristic places.

Later in the afternoon we took a city tour and the tour took us to the following Places
The famous Cathedral of San Francisco
Plaza de Armas
Plaza Mayor
The Love Park
and the Las Huacas Pullanay and Huallamarca ruins

The ruins were interesting as they were right in the middle of Lima, Plaza de Armas consisted of the municipal building and the Main Library,

For dinner we went to the well know restaurant La Rosa right in Mira Flores which also seemed to be the high end shopping district.

Back to the Hotel and ready for our day two too Cuzco
