Where I stayed
An uncomical comedy of errors - the rustic approach to life inside Morocco
Today's start from Tangier was to be an exercise in patience... first with another realization that not all Hertz rentals are the same. After over an hour's wait at the Tangier Airport (again, in the pouring rain), we were finally led to the rental car. At first, it seemed the rental company might have mistaken us for golfers, as we were led to what seemed to be a golf cart instead of a car. Realizing our limited options, into the Toyota Yaris and off into the rain we went.
It didn't take long to also realize that Moroccans can be a bit - casual - in their approach to giving directions (more of the "it's over the hill and past the first palm tree" type of guidance). With no GPS, no numbered highways (why number them on the map if that's the case?), and having to triangulate the true direction each and every time we got turned around, we finally got our luxury Flintstone mobile pointed generally south and toward the Middle Atlas Mountains making our way to the next stop - Meknes.
