Where I stayed
Le Dawliz Hotel
On the high-speed AVE train from Toledo to Madrid, and on to Barajas Airport. The monkey girls were waiting in anticipation to see the land of the Moors and the people and cultures within. After organizing (and drying out a bit) at the hotel, they started with their first plunge into an Arabic souk at Tangier's Grand Socco (of course, with the rain pouring).
So many tiny little shops selling all sorts of strange items... the girls meandered through the souk's alleys and storefronts, wondering how all those tiny shops could get enough business to keep their storeowners (and all the donkeys) fed.
After getting soaked and a bit lost at the souk (the girls thought that was funny), they made their way for a nice welcome dinner at El Corcan located in the El Minzah hotel for a big Moroccan-style dinner of couscous, pastillas, and tagines, with a dancing performance after.
