It's definitely going to be hard to top the events we experienced in Clovis California! Marla and I were so impressed with the kindness and generosity we found in this small town. In just a wee bit over 48 hours we managed to meet dozens of wonderful people ! It really makes you look at your own life in the big city. It is truly a kinder, laid back kinda vibe here in Clovis :-)

After saying good bye to all our new friends in Clovis, Marla and I headed out to the Fresno airport....we decided to call a taxi this time..........and left the Best Western around 9:00 am.Enjoyed a really quick flight (58 min.) to Las Vegas.

We chose to stay at the Luxor due to it's close proximity to Mandalay Bay.In case you have been under a rock...........this is where Tiger Jam/ Bon Jovi is playing tomorrow night...........AND also this is where David will be opening for Bon Jovi!!!
We got our tickets a couple months ago, and our seats are in a pretty good area, with unobstructed views of the stage.

The Luxor is quite centrally located on las Vegas Blvd, and we decided to stay here because it is 'next door" ( not as close as it looks) to the Mandalay Bay. There is a convenient walk way inside the casino which connects the two hotels together with a variety of restaurants and retail shops. The weather was nothing short of spectacular when we arrived this morning and it expected to continue through the weekend :-)

If I had to guess.......I'm fairly certain Marla and I walked about 10 miles today! The hotels look like they are close together, however they are realllllllllllly far away from each other. So if you go, don't forget your sensible shoes !!!

So we spent our first full day in Vegas checking out several different casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and tonight we will meet up with some other David Cook fans, and most likely go for dinner at House of Blues. Really looking forward to another fun day wandering around the city, doing a little shopping and perhaps a bit of gambling. Neither Marla or myself have had much luck so far :-(
You can't get too upset about losing a bunch of money, clearly the odds are stacked against you winning any substantial amount of cash.............having said that, it is still kinda fun when you hear that "ding, ding ding" from the slot machine!!
Purchased  a Monorail pass, so we have lots of places to go and people to see...........One more sleep til Tiger Jam......WhooHoo..........

We woke up Saturday morning only to find the internet buzzing with the news of a brand new song from David he introduced at the Underground Lounge at the Mix 941 Vegas the afternoon before-and lucky for us-someone in attendance caught it all here. It's an MP3 for those of you who may be interested. It's called" From Here To Zero" and my sister Marla is completely over the moon in love with it........me, eh, not so much....but give it a listen and decide for yourself!!!
