After the dust had settled (literally) at the rodeo grounds, sister and I did some serious shopping in beautiful downtown Clovis. We started talking to people where ever we went, and soon realized that people were starting to recognize us!! We explained our story to several local shop owners, and invited them to join us at the rodeo tonight. My sister Marla was shopping for some rubber boots to wear later on, because she would be moving from the safety of her grandstand seat, to the muck and mobs directly in front of the stage! It had been raining on and off today, so the bull riding ring had become a slurry muck fest!! We were not having any luck finding her a pair of suitable gummers, when finally someone suggested the Men's Wear shop on the corner ! We walked in and met the owner Bob (oldest surviving family business in Clovis) We told him what we were looking for, and the rest of our twisted tale..............after much laughter, he went into the back of his store and found Marla an old pair of men's rubber wellingtons I think??

Looked like they came from an army surplus store in the 1950's!! They did fit, and a fair price was negotiated. My sister also told Bob that she could not keep (and really didn't want) so she would drop them off at his store after the rodeo was finished( the agreed price dropped again!) So with boots in hand we set out to find a place for some happy hour action, and a bite to eat before the festivities began :-)
And then.............out of the blue…. Marla gets a phone call from the ABC reporter – telling us to come to the Will Call window after 4 pm to pick up our Meet and Greet Backstage passes starting at 7:30 that evening! WOOOOOO TO THE HOOOOOO! So much more than we expected but so appreciated – once again – thank you Clovis rodeo…. Ohh Here is what the much coveted pass looked like BTW"

Later on that day.....................

We met a bunch of people, some Marla knows from the DCO website, and we went back to Salsa for some margaritas & mexican food! After dinner we all headed over to the Clovis Rodeo grounds to watch the bull riding prior to the start of the concert around 9 ish...........J.J Harrison was really working the crowd, and was kept really busy with about 40 angry bulls! This is a major rodeo for most of these cowboys, and I was really happy to see the winner of tonights bull riding event was a young guy from Alberta Canada!! Yay......giddy-up.

After the bull riding ended most people stayed for the David Cook concert. Just before the concert started Marla and I were invited back stage for a "meet & greet" with David. It was really great to meet him again, and he actually remembered Marla and I from a couple previous m&g's. We got some good pictures with David, and an added surprise............the ABC affiliate Shannon Handy asked if she could tape our visit with David !!

Luckily there were many talented photographers at the David Cook Concert tonight. These shots below were taken by the local radio station Y101, who also sponsored the event !

And then there is this one....................sorry sis, you've been cut!!!

The actual concert started just after 9:00 pm. The wind was really blowing, but it didn't dampen the spirits of the band or the crowd ! There were a lot of David Cook fans in the stands, and more that poured out onto the arena in front of the stage.
