Last year while I was staying here in San Juan del Sur I did a review of most of the popular restaurants in town. This year there are a few new places that have opened. One of our favorite new places to go is The Blue Marlin Bar and Grill. It is situated right on the beach just a couple doors down from El Timon.

Kind of dark, but I tried to get a shot of the high tide. All the restaurants on the beach are built on stilts so they don't get flooded when the tide is this high. Kevin said it isn't usually this high, and tonight was an exception.

Great friends! Delicious food ! Doesn't get any better than this !

Another delicious dish at the Blue Marlin !

It features a Mexican theme, with plenty of hot and spicy favorites. On Tuesday nights eveything costs a dollar!! That's correct, $1.00 buck for a taco, or a rum, or a cerveza! Last night Ross and I went with a friend of ours around 7:00 pm. We were lucky to find a table on the lower patio and saw the most amazing high tide ever! It came right up to the patio and went under the restaurant. Now THAT is sea side dining! Ross and Kevin chose the fish tacos and I had the chicken. This restaurant offers great value, and good presentation. Our total bill at the end of dinner, including several drinks was 231 cordoba was $11.00 U.S.
If you are looking for good food at a very reasonable price with  spectacular ocean front seating,I highly recommend The Blue Marlin!
I will be back again tomorrow with a report on Terraza de Palermo. I am off to a "ladies only lunch" there, so I will let you know how that went.......................

That fajita looks yummy Deed - and ALL that food for a buck? How do the locals support themselves or is it just the general cost of living is really that low? I hope you left a big tip!!! Unfortunately, it was a bit too dark to see on the pic how high that tide really was, but obviously since you weren't swept away, I guess all is well!

So Marla, Yes the cost of living is that low! The total cost was with a 10 % built in tip, but we usually leave a bit more, as in Canada we do 15 % or better. I can't understand why anyone would not want to stay here as long as they possibly could!!! We are actually saving money by being here! How cool is that ?
