Each day I have really tried to have some kind of theme or story to share, today however I found a few things that I had not yet mentioned on my blog. Also in the time I have been doing this blog, I have discovered that most of my follower's are quite anxious for photo's,and if I don't post any people get bored and move on.So here are just a few random things.........

Now that March is here the Humpback whale migration is under way. Yesterday afternoon we spotted a pod about a mile or so off shore. Then again this morning we saw a large pod, again heading north, but they were too far out for any decent photo's. Tomorrow Ralph is going sailing, so perhaps he will be able to get a better look and maybe even some pictures.

What do you mean the power is out again!!!

Okay, so we do have a few power outages here in Nicaragua, no surprises here. Some are planned by the electrical company, and some are not. When they happen during daylight hours you can kinda plan around it, and many restaurants have generators, but lastnight it went out about midnight for an hour, came back on, and then out again for another hour or so.It is quite remarkable how quickly one can overheat when there is no AC or fans.Tempers flare, some obsenities are exchanged, and after a few tense hours, all is restored to normal. It is just the way it is and if you live here it is the way it is !.

Catherine is on her way to Costa Rica!

Cat arrived here in SJdS last week, and camped out with Ross and I for 4 days. She is a friend of ours from Vancouver who is travelling by herself through Central America. Her journey began the 6thg of January in Guatemala, and she flies home to Van on March 31st. She has had a good time, met lots of good people, and NO, she is not the least bit worried about travelling alone. She told us that her entire trip, she was only by herself for 3 days, most of the time she met up with others and travelled with them.Be safe Cat, see you at home!!

Ross loves to get pampered. Here he is at the Spa getting a manicure. What will you do Ross when we get home ???

We just returned from our morning walk on the beach,so here are a few more things of interest(well to me anyway !)
Locals tell me there are no sharks in the bay of SJdS, there are however jelly fish and sting rays,
so shuffle your feet when you are in shallow water to avoid getting stung.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for icecream!
That's right folks, at the end of our street, directly on the beach is Eskimo IceCream .Might be one of the most popular shops in all of SJdS. I think Ross and I stop there for a double coconut waffle cone (20 cords) everynight! Yikes, it is no wonder I have put on a couple pounds,hmmmm...

Nica security system:
This is quite ingenious, and is pretty much self explanatory.

Tonight's dinner:
Ross and I will miss this the most. Our morning walks to the main pier for fresh catch of the day. Today's pick was red snapper, with a few fresh shrimp on the side, yummmmmmmmmmy!

And yes, San Juan del Sur does have a tattoo parlor for you tattoo freaks. No names mentioned of course, you know who you are!!!

That's all for now.May find a few more later on today.Until then.....

A few end of the day shots.Off to bed soon,as we need to get up early to go to Granada for the day. I will post again tomorrow night when we return,so stay tuned..........

Saw this little cutie on the beach. She was toting a bucket of fish.

Some people relax in very different ways. This gal does her yoga every morning.
I get a headache just looking at this! Yikes!

Will close this evening with this pix of my new favourite drink, yes It's rum. Best I have ever tasted, and NO I am not bringing you some..............again, you know who you are!!

Ix nay on the atto-tay I would say sista....Nothing looks worse than a little old biddie (not naming names) sporting some long faded ink that has not been able to stand the test of time or more specifically gravitational pull. I frickin' LOVE the picture of the Nicaraguan what is it - a telephone pole???? Awesome...but I would not want to have the job of shimmying up there to plug anything in....do you have thunder and lightning down there too along with everything else...really enjoying yr blog BTW - oh guess what? Vash goes under the knife 2 weeks from today - finally!

No danger of that ever happening. I was very young and foolish the first time, enough said.I agree with the pole, that is too funny. They are all like that. It's a wonder there is any power at all! Yes there are thunder storms, but not this time of year. In the rainy season. Glad you are enjoying the blog. I don't know what I'm gonna do when it's over :-(
Good Vash is finally getting new knees!
