There is always something to on a Saturday night in SJdS, and lastnight was no exception.
A "Doo-Wop" Sock Hop fundraiser

was held at the Galeria del Sur Art Gallery. The event was a benefit for Fundacion A.Jean Brugger
http://www.fundacionajbrugger.org/en/home.php
Please visit this website for more info on this wonderful woman's quest to help the children of Nicaragua attend school.
Ralph and Renda were instrumental in putting this event together, and a lot of thought and preparation went into the evening. Ralph proved once again. that it is okay to wear pink! And Renda looked absolutely fetching in her "Peggy Sue " ensemble.

The two of them won the jive contest and the $50.00 gift certificate to La Cascada, but they donated it back to the prize pool.

Ralph was the DJ for the evening, and there was no shortage of fabulous 50's tunes. There were raffle prizes and gift certificates gallore!

Looks like fun! Wish we were there...So when do you go to Granada? I am particularly interested in the "colonial" style architecture they have there - want to see lots of pics of that and how far away is it from where you guys are at now and is it the chicken little express you are taking to get there or what? Inquiring minds want to know!

Well I finally got around to reading your travel blog now that it is almost over. Better late than never. I enjoyed your stories. Sounds like a fabulous adventure. Sorry it has taken this long but with a full time job and the Olympics going on I just did not sit down to read what you had been up to. Looking forward to seeing your travel pics when you return. Marla, Trina, Ric, Glen, Sirpa and I went to the Floata for Dim Sum today to celebrate Glen's birthday. It was delicious and surprising less expensive than when you are there. Anyway have a safe trip home.

Yes it is tons of fun,and I really think even you would enjoy it!
Granada is going to be fabulous. We have a private car and driver picking us up on Tuesday morning @ 8:00,will spend the day in Granada,Masaya,San Juan de Oriente & Catarina, will return home at 5 ish. The chicken bus was not an option for this trip, however it is a most interesting mode of transpoirt in C.A. and you can travel anywhere for a chicken or two! I will take lots of photo's for sure.
