Just to recap yesterday's events. I managed to pack Ross off to the dentist in Managua. We did deliberate over the chicken bus, and opted for the private driver to the capital city.Mainly due to the fact that he did have a set appointment, and as "special" as the chicken bus experience is, it can at times  hit and miss due to mechanical failure, flat tires, chicken overload etc....
So I took the opportuntity while Ross was a way to do some girly stuff. Renda and I went to the Bambu Beach club for an "all girls" luncheon. It is a great spot with a pool on the beach to lounge in while sipping a refreshing afternoon cocktail. We spent a leisurely 2 hours there, and then headed off to the new Azul Spa. I had an appointment to get my hair done and french manicure

, and Renda chose the 1 hour massage with aromatherapy and shiatsu/ reflexology. The Azul Spa has been open a couple weeks now and is doing very well. There was a steady flow of customers in the time I was there. My total bill when done came to $ 40.00, so is still a fraction of the cost compared to Canada. I am on my way to desayuno, so will update later...............

Also on Thursday the Island Princess cruise ship anchored in the harbor. Really large ship with about 2000 people on board.

We went to the port in the morning to see all the artisans . Many of them come from all over Nicaragua, set up booths and sell there goods to tourists. The cruisers go to town in the" tourist
taxi"

I had fun shopping, just look at my little frog buddy.

I thought it was made out of leather, apparently NOT, if you know what I mean!

Okay so I totally forgot to report on Ross's condition after his dental experience in Managua, and several people have pointed that out, so sorry for keeping you all hanging.Firstly ,it was a very good thing that Ross had to travel to Managua to the dentist. When he arrived there and the Dr. looked at his tooth he also discovered the molar next to the tooth he broke was looking somewhat suspicious.Upon further investigation it was apparent that the molar was the actual cause of the infection and pain, and not the broken tooth at all. Since the "bad tooth", was a molar in the back he had it extracted, and the root canal was completed in one appointment with no incident. To finish up the deal the dentist also fashioned a custom mouth guard to prevent any further tooth breakage. The best part of the whole experience for Ross, was the dentist invited him out for a few beers after the procedure! How cool is that? Ross had to take a raincheck on that, because he had a driver waiting, which may be a good thing,or he may still be in Managua! Anyway now that it is all said and done,we are happy he decided to go and have it taken care of,the entire bill was only $300.00 U.S.I am certain should we return next year, we would both go to Dr.David for some procedures that are way too pricey in Canada. To celebrate Ross's sucessful dental experience, and to say farewell to some friends we met, we went to the Bambu Beach for dinner tonight.

The patient:

Just a gental reminder to all that this Sunday Feb. 28th is Ross's 51 st birthday. So please send any greetings or salutations to this blog sight!!
muchas gracias :-)

We are beginning to get the impression that the ticket you got Ross for the ride to Managua dentist was a one way?
