After our adventures in Bangkok, it was time to head south for some fun in the sun!!
We were to meet up with brother Lawson and his band of drunken friends for a taste of 'authentic' Thai culture- Sun, Sea and Samsung!! We were not disappointed!!.......
We spent our first night in the lap of luxury in Samui at a beautiful resort- did I mention the infinity pool, cocktails served to you on the beach......
Again, the travellers wondered what exactly the hardships of backpacking were?....
The next day we headed off to Ko Phangnan, slightly green and shaky, we walked the rickety jetty and boarded the boat....
Ko Phangnan was beautiful, and we soon forgot about our throbbing heads. Spent four nights and loved every minute. Was fairly quite- we suspect it will be a bit different next time we venture here for the full moon in November!
Went to a black moon party- bars are just built into the side of a mountain with vertical drops all around- safety last is the motto of the Thai people! Luckliy we all got home safely despite the efforts of the buckets!
Had a bit of a flooding in our room on our last night in Ko Phangnan! Came home to the reception area flooded. When we went to our room, we realised that we were the source!! the hose had exploded off the wall in the toilet and was drowning the guesthouse- oooopppsss!! We did a great job fixing it- all we needed was a hair bobbin and a towel- all those years of watching blue peter must have paid off!!
Next stop- Chang mai and then our trek- me and dee hope this to be a leisurely stroll in the park, fingers crossed.......
