Badlands
Checked out of Best Western close to 11. Badlands was only 20 minutes away.
Everyone we've talked to said not to miss this park. We can see why. It reminded us of a cross between the Grand Canyon and Chimney Bluff State Park. It was quiet, large and breathtaking.
The kids did not want to take any hikes again. This was ok as the kikes were short. We made them get out of the car for photos and hikes. We enjoy tormenting out children. Of course, Kelly enjoys tormenting us by knowing how all of these rocks were formed- even ticking her older sister off. Note to self: send note to Mr. Critelli for teaching this kid more than we know. He will be proud!
Just after we left Badlands, we stopped at an old Sod House homestead. Was very interesting.
No idea where we are going to stay tonight. The kids want to go to the Mall of America, but we think it will be too far from home as I need to get home by Saturday.
We have settled in Sioux Falls, SD at Best Western Ramkota. This hotel has a small waterpark. Grace is in her glory.
We have a double room which is really nice. We ordered pizza from the hotel restaurant. Very tasty. Pairing with the wine I bought from Yellowstone- white organic table wine – also very tasty- as a celebration of another birthday.
