Where I stayed
Today we took it nice and slow. We went on a very nice 4 mile roundtrip hike at The Trail of Cedars/Avalanche Trail. It had a wonderful cascading waterfall/River that whipped around like a waterslide. The colors of the rocks that the water carved out were just magnificent. Of course, when I stopped to enjoy the scenery when I actually wasn't tired from the climb, my children complained about how slow I was. I tried to enjoy the Turquoise colored rocks, moss covered forest, Osprey nests. When I listened long enough, I could hear the roars of the waters that was no longer close to the trail.
When we finally reached the summit, we saw a most beautiful lake carved out by the glacier above it. The Glacier had about 4 waterfalls cascading from it. It was just awesome.
The trip down of course, was much easier. A great hike.
Then, we went back to get an oil change and do some laundry. I guess I don't need an oil change until 10,000 miles because I have synthetic oil. Wish I'd known that. At least I got my tires rotated. The dealer didn't even wash my car!
We heard about an excellent place to get steaks- Spencers. We went there, but had to leave because they had NO vegetarian/children food. Settled at Dave's Famous Barbecue. Apparently, their baby back ribs are famous, because they were out of them. Kelly wasn't allowed to order from the kids menu because she was over 10. Service was lousy. I ordered bbq wings. They were small, but tasty. Grace was in heaven again because she got mac n cheese. Kelly loved the chili and Kim had Caeser salad again. Rick got regular ribs and said they were ok.
While I finished laundry, they all went for a swim in the pool and then we called it a night. Going hiking again tomorrow.
