I have to say that I was worried about the length of the first stretch.  My Co-pilot app said 12 hours.  I figured if I can't drive that long, I'd be in big trouble for the rest of the trip....all the reservations would be off!  It wasn't a bad drive at all.

Best part: Driving with Kelly and Grace

Unexpected: Toll Evasion on the Illinois stretch.  The signs were not posted until I rounded the curve--that I had to get into the RIGHT lane.  I, of course, was in the LEFT lane.  I had to drive through their version of the E-z pass.  I have 30 days to pay this.  I hope I remember!

Worst Part: About 20 minutes from our destination, we encountered the worst rain storm I've ever seen on the thruway.  I had to pull over.  The car was shaking so much, I thought it was going to flip over.  The girls said it reminded them of Buffalo's "October Storm"
