I'm cold! The weather has taken a real turn, they say it is 5-20 degrees colder than usual in these parts, and I believe it. I much preferred the weather of last week. It's almost too cold for biking, but not quite, once you get riding you do warm up. The last three days we have been taking it easy, so not as much to report on or many pictures. The condo is not in the best location for biking, as we have to get over the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge, which is a busy highway and it does not have sidewalks. So we have to load the bikes up onto the hitch and drive to a starting location each time we want to ride. As part of yesterday's biking we took the main road through downtown Myrtle Beach and once will be enough. It reminds me of Niagara Falls, all the tacky tourist shops, Ripley's Believe it or Not and amusement park concessions. Trail wise; it was a good ride as they have designated bus lanes that we could use, which then connected to the Grissom Bike Trail. It made for a 30km loop.
Today (Monday) when they said it was going to rain we decided to go to Georgetown, about 10 miles away, as it looked like a nice quaint town with shops on the waterfront. Other than the Seafood Dock, where we got fresh shrimp off the boat, and a great restaurant called River Room for lunch it too was disappointing. So what else to do when its cold and rainy, go shopping. So off we went to the Tangers Outlet and a few other stores to find bargains. Shop, shop, shop....
It really poured yesterday so we went to the time share chat at our condo, they always ask when we are on an exchange. This time they offered $100 and we had no plans so we sat throught their speil, it was actually sounding like a good setup for their condo program, but since we really do not need another week to exchange it was easier to say 'no'. I also had the cahnce to tell them about my disaappointment with their advertsing, because the website for the Harbour Lights indicates that there is a outlet mall across the street. What they fail to say is that it is no longer in operation.
Today we are having lunch at Atlanat Bread Company- Bakery & Deli. With good food also comes free wifi internert access. Only one more day to ride tomorow and then we will be back on the road north. The weather reports show snow so hope we don't have any problems getting home. This is probably the last of the reports.
