Well, time has come and tomorrow we leave for Chiang Mai, Thailand. There is always so much to do before departure. In preparation for this course we had to attend several meetings and complete TONS of paperwork. As the course director I have to register everyone with the US Embassy, transfer money, assist with the itinerary, arrange flight arrangements, prepare and deliver the course through the on-line learning management system, purchase gifts, pack, etc. You would think that after 5 years I would be on top of all of this but somehow I always seem to be busier than the year before.

This year our group consists of 6 nursing majors, 1 art major and my husband and I. My daughter is also traveling to Thailand with us this year but upon her arrival she is going to be joining the "Spring Semester in Thailand"group and will be spending the spring semester in Thailand. We are really excited about this opportunity for her. She will be staying with our friend, Pi Jip, as she studies at Chiang Mai University. She will also be completing an internship at the local elementary schools. She will come back a changed person. I am so happy for her.

This year we will be participating in more "service" oriented activities. Messiah College students are so unique and special. One of the attributes I like about our students is their heart of service. My students have been saying for years that they want to do more for the people of Thailand. So, this year that is what we are going to be doing just that. I will be keeping you informed through my blog and pictures.

We will be leaving tomorrow from Dulles airport around noon. This flight will be flying right into Seoul, Korea. We only have a short layover before we depart for Chiang Mai. This itinerary is much nicer. Last year we had a whole day in Seoul and then we flew into Bangkok for a one night stay. We had to get up early to catch a flight into Chiang Mai. It was a LONG and EXHAUSTING flight. So happy we do not have the same itinerary.

As long as the internet cooperates I will try and post on a daily basis. Stay tuned as our journey begins.

God Bless
