We arrived in Taipei Taiwan pretty much on schedule. For the third year in a row, it was raining upon our arrival. We have approximately a 4 hour layover before we depart for Chiangmai, Thailand. Students are looking weary. Some slept, others did not. So far, everyone is holding up pretty well. I always feel as if I am in some kind of time warp when we pass from one time zone to another. I really do not know where Wednesday, January 5 went. We arrived in Anchorage at 2 am Weds morning (Alaska time) and landed in Taipei on Thursday morning, January 6. We were in the air for approximately 11 hours so how does all of this add-up? We are just hanging out at the airport until our noon departure. I was glad to meet Mike Lemming and the study-abroad students in Taipei. It is always good to see Mike and his wife. We experienced another medical emergency as an elderly Indian man fell backwards on the escalator. Everyone was yelling but no one stopped the escalator. So, I ran over and pushed the emergency button which brought the escalator to a stop. Fortunately, there were a few men nearby that could assist the man to his feet. He appeared to be ok. Good deed for the day, fulfilled. Although we were served breakfast on the plane, students were hungry. So, the first thing they did was search out the eatery places. Now that the bellies are full everryone is busy checking FB, email and Skype as the airport offers free WiFi. I hope all is well back home.
