My first trip to Vegas.... WOW. I think the most interesting thing about Vegas, for me personally, was that I found it *more* awesome (in the true sense of the word) than the Grand Canyon... how is that possible????

Seriously, I had NO idea how much money was there... it's hard to put into words. Suffice it to say that it was overwhelming... especially after being on the road and on the budget so to speak... but we did our part and blew $650 on roulette, blackjack and dinner. Saw a guy lay down $1K in hundreds on a roulette wheel and lose. I've now been there and done that... as much as I will ever want to... I've never been a gambling person in the traditional sense. I take risks, and money certainly has always found me when I needed it the most, but I can't say I've "won" much in my life in terms of contests or games... I like the numbers 3 and 11, but I wouldn't say they're my lucky numbers.

A few days ago, we had a freaky number experience in AZ... 2 miles after the odometer read 222,222[2], Chris looked down and realized it. 2 miles later, we passed mile marker 222., so I thought maybe we were supposed to play those numbers when we got to Vegas... we did and lost.

Dinner was great however, and we were fortunate to be staying at my friend Jennifer's parents' house just west of Vegas. Larry, Jenn's dad, was great! Even offered to let us crash again when I go back to pick Chris up... Vegas, btw, is a four hour drive from Kanab, UT, so it's not something you really want to round trip in one day if you can help it... especially since it's all downhill one way...

SEE????
OK, even though my parents live there, do you understand yet what it is about Vegas that I find sooooo creeeeeeepy? It's other-worldly. There's money everywhere, side by side with really really really desperate people. It's like living in a Dali painting. But I'm glad my dad treated you nice, and probably talked your ears off since he hadn't had anyone to talk to in 2 weeks, with mom being gone and all. In fact, Dad called ME when you guys left, because he'd just talked to you and found out that I didn't have his cell phone number anymore, so 'Adrienne said I should call you so my number showed up on your caller ID'. Oh, so he's listening to YOU now??? You are a better man than either me or my three sisters! LOL!
