In search of internet access, we pulled of I-85 just before Commerce, GA. Good thing, as a torrential downpour of biblical proportions soon ensued. I was able to post the blogs I'd written before, check email, and Chris reached Ray Kutos. Of course, Ray was in Greensboro, NC, so we'll have to get him on another swing around.

So, we decided we'd head to Atlanta via Athens (less semis and prettier drive - anything is prettier than 85!) to go visit the DeKalb County Fire and Rescue guys when the phone rang. Ed Greenberg, our lawyer and hands-down favorite New Yorker asked us where we'd be on Saturday.
Chris said, "probably Miami, why?"

"Wrong answer! You'll be in New Orleans to do the CBS early show, so write this down," he countered.

"Okay," Chris answered, knowing that arguing with Ed is a waste of time... "what do you want me to do?"

We spent the next 20 minutes on the phone with CBS, scheduling a 3-5 minute live shot in Jackson Square for Saturday morning. And, they want to shoot the trailer! Now I feel much less silly having "redecorated" Bokeh before we left...

Did I neglect to mention my redecorating efforts? First, the mini-blinds came down. I loathe mini blinds... then I made curtains - three different fabrics for the "kitchen" the "bedroom" and the "dining area." Next, I recovered the valances over the windows - in dark green dupioni silk, no less (it was leftover fabric from Chris' portfolios. Actually most of the fabric was leftovers or in stock). Then I attempted to recover the cushions. After breaking two needles, I accepted the fact that it was a waste of my time and well beyond my abilities to finish... so I took them to the local upholstery shop a few blocks away.... They did a fabulous job!

Anyway, back to the Flying J... After sending Andy (the guy at CBS who will be producing the show) Chris' CV, and promising to get them some pictures, we recalculated our route and decided we'd have to get back to Miami and all the stops before and after at some later point. So, set your Tivos for Saturday morning 8/26 on CBS from 6 - 8am EST (no clue when he'll be on, could be the first hour, could be the second). They're featuring this project, and his traveling across the country to flesh out the rest of the story about the ongoing effect of Katrina on people's lives.
