A nice drive to the Panama border finds us on an improbable bridge that once was a train crossing, but is now the one-way-at-a-time traffic bridge linking the two countries. As I clear us out of Costa Rica and begin our turn to drive across this fine old structure, the local bridge repair crew decided to change a few of the boards in order to make it more "safe" for travel. After half an hour of watching the process carefully and hoping that they did it right, we creaked over their handiwork. The Panamanian side was tedious, but straightforward, and soon enough we're back on the highway. Actually a very good road leads us all the way from the Caribean to the Pacific, and another beach to camp on.
Today we have completed 20,000 kilometres so far on this trip.
