Breakfast this morning was significantly better. There was even fruit, and some of the students actually had a bit. I don't think anyone is in danger of vitamen overdose on this trip, however.
Pharo took us on a quick bus trip across the river to Prague Castle, the largest in the world and Uncle Walt's inspiration for the Magic Castle. In many ways, Prague is like Disneyworld in so many ways. It's magical, often picturesque, just as often tacky and loaded to the seams with tourists. As I type, thirty Germans here for a weekend of partying and carrying on are ... partying and carrying on.
Here are some student impressions of Prague:
" Prague puts the other places to SHAME, its actually amazing here. The bars are nice, the scenary is beautiful and the environment is so clean! This is exactly what I wanted from this Euro trip (not to put down the other places that I've already visited). Prague absolutely blew my mind and I'm sure it'll only get better as we prepare ourselves for another four hour bus ride to Munich tomorrow! " -Mike
"We saw the site where Triple X was filmed when Vin Desiel climbs onto the wooden thing after blowing up the sub. It was nice. Caramel icecream gellato is awesome." -Pascoe
"Prague is absolutley stunning, I love it here so much, The environment is clean and the ice cream is delicious actually it's gelato and it is the best thing i've ever tasted. I'm haveing so much fun on this trip and I'm excited to travel to Munich tommorrow!"-Dan Brooks
"Now that I've been to Prague, I've got to say, the architecture is trite. Thanks Stephen Colbert." - Moe
"I would type something, but I'm occupied [Mmmmmm .... gelato. Hhhhhhh.]" - Adelaide
The towers are amazing and the cobblestone is sick. The castle is wicked and the bridge is really cool.
Prague is really busy around all of the important stuff, so it's kind of annoying and weird.
Highlights of the tour have been the castle itself, complete with a torture chamber ... which ironically but not surprisingly was enjoyed by all (particularly the suit of pins, where you hung suspended only hundreds of sharp spines. Brrrr), the Astrological Clock (when it rings, the Twelves Apostles each come out and take a little bow, and the St. Michael Bridge (with a statue that grants good luck).
There it is! We'll write more later, but supper is soon. Don't worry ... we'll stay out of the way of the revellers and hooligans and be safely on our way to Munchen tomorrow.
