I got up and after some excellent pancakes and bacon which Alex made, I said goodbye to Alex, Annie and the kids and headed to Columbus, Ohio to stay the night with Henry Lee (again)!   The drive was unenventful and I reached Columbus (he actually lives in Dublin) in about three hours.  It was about 1:30 pm.  Henry met me with a beer, a tv tray and a lawn chair on his front sidewalk.  What a guy!  Gai-Yee took our pictures.  Soon Gai-Yiu came home but had other lunch plans.

The three of us headed for a restaurant which was closed, then another which was also closed before we headed to J. Liu restaurant.  They only had the buffet...so we had the buffet.  I knew I had to get to the waitress before Henry did, or he would have paid...and did...and was very happy to do so.  Great lunch, but asusual at buffets, I eat too much.

We headed back to Henry's house and he took me for a ride in his sports car.  We went through downtown Coumbus, Ohio State Campus Town, by the track stadium named for Jesse Owens (I didn't know he attended OSU),  by the Memorial Golf Club built by Jack Nicklaus (I knew he went to OSU) and finally, we stopped by Lily's grave.  Very special.  Of course, Henry and the kids had already been there, it being Mother's Day.  Very special indeed.

Then it was back to Henry's and watched TV a while before cooking dinner.  Henry had some great steaks and I cooked some grilled asparagus...very tasty.

I blogged a bit and headed to bed.

Next morning, Henry was cooking eggs.  I should mention, I took a shower and didn't even break his shower head this time!!!  We ate and talked a bit after the kids left for school.  (Gai-Yee works at OSU as an Academic Advisor and Gai-Yiu is a Jr. in Engineering.)  I have known Henry for many years.  He's just a wonderful human being.  He mentored me through the Registrar's position at ISU and we had many a good time together after work.
