Arrived Auckland. Judy Knott's (today's her birthday) met me at the airport at 6:30 am (great airport) drove me to Howick where I'm staying at a B&B, across from the Bay.
Judy & Mary have a full itinerary printed up for me. Visiting schools near Howick ( a village on the eastern coastal area of Auckland) throughout the week. Mary drove me around Howick showing me the schools I'll be visiting. I'll be meeting several special education teachers including one at a local Catholic school. Seems there may be possible placements for our student teachers in special education afterall. She's promised I'll get to see Reading Recovery lessons.
Judy & Mary have made me feel welcomed. After that long flight, 9+5+8 hours including losing a day crossing International Dateline, all the travel tension faded quickly. They had a welcome bag full of treats for me and having dinner at Judy's home tomorrow. Never a dull moment with J&M!
New Zealand is beautiful, green, clean & fresh. Most amazing is how friendly people are. Complete strangers are offering to show me the natural wonders, which there are many to see here.
Will have pictures of Howick village soon.
Oh yes the pillows at the B&B are "just right" so is NZ wine!
