Not a good start to the day with no water or electricity in the hotel and having to check out. Spent the day on the coast at a beach which was billed as the guidebook as "stunning, undeveloped and quiet" which may have been a good description ten years ago... But did manage to find a good thai curry (the first vaguely spicy food I've found in South America) in a restaurant right on the beach front. Slight panic on leaving as got to the bus station at 5pm and the next bus with a seat (they go every 30 mins) was the 11.30pm which wasn't going to work given my nght bus to Iquique left Copiapo at 10.30, but after me wailing in bad Spanish the girl at the ticket office managed to swap me with somebody on the 5.30 bus
