Once again we've found a place to stay at the top end of the market - the Trancin Autocamp. But who cares about that as we have a lovely cabin on the banks of Slovakia's largest river, the Vah and have made lots of friends at the campsite already. This is a nice change, as we made no Czech mates in the last country we were in!

Beer proces have tumbled on our trip, and at the little 'Bufet' on our campsite we can get 1/2 a litre of Topvar for 18 Sk, which is about 30p. Other local beers are the wonderfully named Smlady Mnich, Steiger (not after Curtis, the wonderful early 90s crooner) and Corgon, meaning many an evening has had a Corgon conclusion.

So, why did we come here? Basically because we didn't want to go to Bratislava, as we do't like big cities too much, and it also has a big castle on a big hill, which can be seen from anywhere in town, so long as you aren't either visually impaired or facing the wrong direction. However, if you ever visit, don't do the tour, which is rubbish. And it is entirely in Slovak, which makes it even less interesting and consists of being shown around rooms of crests and old guns. Brilliant.

The city seems to have a nice chav element though, with quite a few souped-up Skodas doing the rounds - Sinnott, you'd love it here!
