Flag of Ireland  , County Dublin,
Tuesday, June 25, 2013

This morning started out in Belfast with a Black Taxi Tour of the "troubled" areas mainly the Shankhill Road and the Falls Road.  Really surprised to see the extent of the segregation still in operation today.  The taxi driver was really informative and took us through the history of the problems which started back with Henry VIII.

Then on to Dublin for a late lunch and Dawn's final Guinness.

We have travelled 1,356.5 miles (2183 km) and seen some amazing sights.  The differences between the Republic and the North are quite marked and even within the same city one side has more union flags flying permanently than can be seen  on Jubilee Day in the most patriotic English town, whilst the other the flag of Ireland is prominent and never the two shall meet.

We have both had a really brilliant time, the people are friendly and always have a smile ready, we have listened to Molly Malone more times than we care to think about and eaten more than we should have done.  Dawn also drank far more Guinness than she should have done but says she could still drink a lot more!

If you ever visit Dublin you must stop at Gogartys in Temple Bar for the best Irish Stew and live music around (the beef sandwiches aren't bad either).

Now it's back home on this evenings flight.
