We left Dunedin at 7.30am and stopped for a look at the train station.  Travelled along the Southern Scenic Route and stopped around 9am for breakfast at Kaka Point.  Beautiful morning the sun was shining on the sea and the setting was perfect.  After Kaka Point we went to Nugget Point Lighthouse along a very stony, bendy, steep cliff road - quite scary and really tested Sue's nerve and driving but we made it.  We walked out to the lighthouse and looked back on Kaka Point which has the most amazingly large horseshoe shaped bay.  Moving on to Bluff (which is the most southerly point we will travel) for a picture of the signpost - didn't really like Bluff its a bit too industrial so we decided not to stay there as planned and moved on to Invercargill.

Went to one campsite which seemed miles down a particular road but we couldn't find it so turned around only to find that it wasn't there but the next turning!! Went to another site and parked up only for the van to roll back a little to the grass verge - Sue had forgotten the handbrake and Dawn was standing behind trying to stop it moving - luckily there was a ridge which stopped it anyway as Dawn would not have been able to hold it for laughing.  We then made some dinner and found out we had run out of water, so for our next test we had to fill the water tank.  Easy you might think - not for us after a couple of glasses of wine.  The attachment to the water tap leaked so more water came out of that than through the hosepipe into the tank and it took about 15 minutes during which time we checked about 10 times that we were putting water in the right place as it seemed to be never-ending.  Hopefully our next test tomorrow will be more successful as its emptying the waste water and the loo! (it will be around 6am so at least we will be sober).

Hi both, really enjoying following you - it all looks and sounds amazing. Sounds like you're having a lot of laughs along the way! I have a friend who lives in Gore - that's near where you are isn't it? Continue having a fantastic time.
