It turned out to be a rather eventful morning after Grandma's last breakfast! We walked to the airport and stood in line waiting to check in when a woman just collapsed in a heap infront of us! Oh dear...but she was OK a few minutes later after a glass of water! And then there was the rather suave Chilean guy with his fly gaping open! Hee Hee!

A few more beers on the flight later, the air steward making me blush when he said he hoped I wasn't driving when we landed and 'I Love You baby' playing on one of the films (AWWW!) we landed in Santiago only to lose Paul as we came through into Arrivals and the taxi drivers telling me where he was! Very nice of them!!! We had alot more success with our hostel choice this time as well finding the very lovely Casa de Roja and reverting back to bunk beds again...a great book exchange so more Dan Brown for me and within half a day finding a very lovely local shop with great empanadas and a local Internet caf run by some lovely Peruvians! We were feeling at home already! The next morning the heavens had opened literally so we knocked sightseeing on the head and had a chilled out Travelpod day (while Paul was on the phone to his mum & dad, I was chatting away to the Peruvian owners in Spanish and had to revert to sound effects to explain the type of animals we have in England! Oh yes my Spanish is extremely advanced!!! Had us all in fits of giggles though!) and invested in a bottle of pisco to help us relax (?) even more in the evening listening to lots of annoying tour groups celebrating the fact that they now thought of themselves being back in civilisation as they could get a McDonalds!!???!!! Hmmmmm!

The sun was shining for us the next day though and we headed out on a mission to see Santiago! It has very cool shops and lots of them and a huge Plaza de Armes with lots going on - people selling all sorts of weird & wacky paintings, flower carts and a lovely cathedral infact all the buildings surrounding the square are kind of nice even the post office! We headed out to some of the parks and walked up to a viewpoint where you could see the whole city and the Andes surrounding it...very nice! Managed to fall on my arse walking back down again though...whoops! Wandered through the backstreets back into town and came across a random man playing one of those wind-up music box things...I thought he must be in love with someone in the apartment block opposite as he was playing it on a street with no-one there!!! Awwww! And we finished the day off as always with coffee, cake and a chinky! Lovely jubbly!

PS The worst thing about staying in dorms has got to be the snoring...as soon as one person stops, the next carries on like a relay race!!! Grrrrrr!
