Papa got up early and went to the station Gare Du Nord relatively nearby to get the special Paris visite public transport tickets. I slept in but sometime that morning papa woke me up and I got dressed. We took the metro line 4 to Cite only a few stops and when we walked out the Notre Dame Cathedral soon appeared before me. An amazing big church that had recently been cleaned and looked like new. Upon entry it became clear that there was a choir in the church which made our visit even more enjoyable. The gentle sounds together with the majestic building made a really big impression on me. At the back of the church there was the most amazing nativity scene set up. We left the church planning to climb the towers and be like Quasimodo but hey he didn't use the steps and as there was a big queue we left it for another day. A short stroll on the Rive Gauche and we were back in the metro. Next I knew the Arc De Triomphe was before me. It was really beautiful as it too had a recent clean. The enormous French flag suspended from the arch made it really pretty. After circling the Arch we decided to climb it as it was free for Europeans (like me as I have a Dutch passport somewhere). The view was magnificent you could see the whole city and especially the Eiffel Tower seemed closer than before, the Champs Élysées beneath our feet beckoned and we descended the 284 steps. It was lunch time on the Champs élysées and I was ready for some recharging as my feet were pretty sore from all that walking. During lunch, which was delicious, I determined that the Natural History Museum deserved a visit so we set course for there's, unfortunately it was closed when we got there so we concluded our day with a long walk through the Jardin De Luxembourg. Back to the hotel for a quick pitstop and then my curiosity of the nearby shops got the better of me. It seems that our hotel is right in the middle of the formal dress shops with wedding gowns as far as the eye can see. Papa was most patient as we went in and out of tens of formal dress shops. The Moroccan community may have influenced what is for sale here as it was all glitter and gloss, but I still managed to find something I liked, didn't buy it but I will sleep on it for sure. For dinner we went to the first nice brasserie we could find where I went wild and had a French meal. My god it was absolutely delicious, lamb shank the size of a leg of lamb with pan fried potatoes and beans. Yummy, papa had fish pie which he pretended to like, I'm sure he was jealous of my choice. When we left the brasserie it was absolutely freezing outside so we called it a day. Tomorrow we will go and see the Mona Lisa at The Louvre. Can't wait.
