Austrian Alps

After a few great days in Vienna, we thought that it would be pretty fitting to head off to Innsbruck....I mean going all the way to Austria and not seeing the Alps should be a crime.  

We arrived in the afternoon just as the sun was going down, and the scenery was absolutely brilliant.  Fantastic mountain ranges as far as the eye can see and some beautiful yet quaint alpine lodges and houses.
More importantly though....the semi final between the Boks and Argentina was on and so we went off to find an Irish pub.....because we all know that all Irish pubs throughout the world broadcast the sport.
 
Correction...every Irish pub outside of Austria it would seem televises the sport.  This Irish pub in Innsbruck called 'Limericks' didn't even have a TV....now that's a crime.  So I decided to have faith in the boys and went to bed early not knowing the result. 
 
Woke up this morning happy as can be knowing that we're through to the final.  Today we decided to spend a bit more cash and got an alpine pass that took us up to the Stubial Glacier, with permanent all year round snow.  Absolutely spectacular, 3000 metres up and what an experience.....definitely a highlight for me so far.

Off to Zurich on an overnight train later tonight so will keep you posted.
