Rejuvinating Rijeka

After the hustle and bustle of Italy...we decided to take a break and head for a quieter destination - a trip to a Croation town on the Aegean coast line.
We caught an overnight train from Venice to Zagreb and got a connecting train early in the morning...and got in to Rijeka at midday.  The scenery on the train ride was fantastic....going down the mountain towards the coastline...just brilliant.  The hostel was nice and quite, just what we needed.
Unfortunately, the first day we were there, it was a national holiday so there weren't too many things open. 
Instead we spent time walking around the town and I went for a swim in the sea.  
A touch chilly at 18°C, but excellent none the less.  The sunset was fantastic as well.  Tomorrow we are off to Ljubljana for a day trip.
