Sailing onto Venice

We decided to have a day stop over in Venice primarily because accommodation is through the roof in this place.  To give you an example...a hostel in Rome is €20, but in Venice you're looking at €45, just crazy.
Just like Rome and Florence, its mobbed with tourists.  The main square is something special though.  Loads of pigeons causing havoc, but a very beautiful setting.
We thought about catching a Gondola ride, but €80 a pop and we decided to walk the canals and the city instead.
                             
 
My favourite part would have been getting to watch the Rugby World Cup Quarterfinal in a sports bar.  A special mention to my lovely wife for finding the place!
 
Oh...and I never realised how loud I cheer, whenever we scored a try I would shout....and someone in the Restaurant would drop their cutlery in shocked surprise.  Happy Days
