U.S. Highway 28 follows the Lake Superior southern shore for several miles. I took this route for about 80 miles then headed south on 77 to pick up U.S. 2 to I-75 and the Mackinac Bridge. I had partly sunny skies until south of the bridge, when it rained for about half an hour then cleared up for the rest of the ride home.

And now it's good to be home! I got here around 6:00 p.m. Karen and Kelley (our German Shepherd) greeted me. I've thoroughly enjoyed this trip, I've seen some amazing landscape and wildlife in the the U.S. and Canada, I've enjoyed some great riding, I've met some very interesting and friendly people, but there really is no place like home.

Thank you very much to those who followed along, and thanks especially to those who took the time to comment and provide encouragement, either on here or through email or Facebook. I took this trip by myself, but I never felt alone. I had allowed up to 5 weeks to take this trip. It took me 3, and I felt that was enough. This has been a dream come true for me. Reality exceeded the dream.

I hope everybody enjoys the rest of their summer!

Jolie and Sam on

Hey-
We are just now getting caught up on your trip. Looks like you had a great ride. We were looking at your dates and it appears that our paths crossed several more time after Dawson Creek- i think we were in anchorage and Denali at the same times and possibly passed through Fairbanks on the same day. It was great meeting you and we are so happy that you had a good trip and made it home safely. good luck with that ride to South America!!!!
