On my way home on Sunday morning and although I will come back to sort out the bike, it will only be admin rather then the extended adventure I hoped for.

So really just enjoying the last couple of days of exploring.

Great find by Lali of the Oregon air and space museum. Thank you.

Sadly these places tend to be run down and largely empty with a few elderly volunteers desperate to help visitors and share their lifelong knowledge.

Today was no exception. Interesting place with the usual old and decaying aircraft and engines.

However the elderly and almost totally deaf guide who gave me a solo tour said something very true. He said "most museums have seven things on average that they are really proud of and that make them special, we have one thousand" And my God he was right.

David Galbraith (who doesn't Google) is a Eugene man who has now made over 1000 1/20th scale models for this museum.

From the very first flying machines to the present day as well as a huge number of space exploration vehicles.

They are exquisit and because they are all the same scale it is astonishing to see the size and variety of machines made over the years.

Man has been incredibly inventive with flying machines and although I am a car guy I have to say we haven't done a lot with the car given its basic structure of 4 wheels and an engine. Obviously we have built the two wheeled car which we dipped in chrome and called a Harley Davidson but the aero guys have tried everything.

This model collection is unique, beautiful and priceless and I am honoured to have seen it.
