well, after 7 days of touring the south, west and north of the island, it is finally time to head to the airport. With constant 25 degree plus temps and all-day sunshine, we have inadvertently acquired tans that match our preferred clothing choices - although for some reason despite wearing shorts every day our legs are mysteriously unaffected. Costa Smerelda is stunningly beautiful and one of the few places wear the postcard blue of the beach shots has been matched by reality - and the water has been consistently clear too. Food choices have been dominated by Pizzeria offerings for the last 3 days as the prices in the more varied restaurants have been prohibitive! Still, we have had some great pasta and seafood, accompanied by delicious Sardinian wine. I would whole heartedly recommend a trip here ' try it in one of the many campervans to be truly free of accomodation really only being available in towns.....
