Off to Avignon! We leave Paris on the TGV which can travel at around 300 km/h. So it only took us about 2 and a half hours to arrive in Avignon.
Our accommodation in Avignon is really cool. We are staying right outside the Palais de Papes which is the largest gothic palace in Europe. Like the Paris accommodation it is also a studio apartment but is a bit larger. The apartment is in a small street right next to the palais that has been hollowed out from the stone. Very impressive.
After we got settled we had a look inside the Palais de Papes. Like alot of the architecture in france it was impressive in both scale and design. The popes pretty much pumped as much money as they could into the palace while they were here so it was quite extravagant. The Palace itself occupies 11,000 km2.
For dinner we went to a restaurant that had a little Scottish dog wandering freely through it. Mim was quite taken by the dog and kept trying to get him to pose for pics throughout our meal. He wasn't a very good model though.
