My expected departure for Saturday the 1st has had to be put back due to technical difficulties of an electronic nature. Some weeks ago I subscribed (at no small cost), to electronic chart coverage worldwide. Upon installing in the aircraft I found problems which are still ongoing as I write. It has taken a week to recognize the issues, which I hope will be fixed soon!
A journey of this nature can only be attempted when everything is serviceable, therefore I have decided to postpone until all is well.
The latest synoptic charts for my route to west Scotland and Iceland for Saturday do not look favorable, so nothing is lost.
I shall keep an update on this site, when I can predict my departure date.
