So we finally found some time to write our blog update... things have been busy here but in a good way.
As you can see from the photos, weīve been up to lots of stuff... We went to a footie match in Guadalajara, Chivas are the biggest team here and they won so that was awesome. The fans are amazing, they sing and dance with instruments for the entire match... crazy. Definitely an experience and we are hoping to go again before we leave Guadalajara.
Then crazy Davy ran the Guadalajara marathon... the picture for this blog is him crossing the finish line, very cool and very exciting! He has raised quite a few pesos for some orphans here so it was well worth the pain..
We are half way through this semester now, time is flying by... canīt believe we left England nearly 4 months ago! Teaching is really good (most of the time!), I teach 4 year olds and this week for Halloween iīve decided we are going to make a pasta skeleton, a witches hat and some bat finger puppets...fun! However...I also teach the extreme opposite, the highest level and this week i had to try and explain words like pragmatic and naive... not so fun... but challenging!
We also went to see a Lucha Libre wrestling match which was hilarious! Basically itīs like the WWE in the US but they wear masks and itīs ten times more ridiculous…. We couldn't take cameras in though so no pics, just memories… If you have seen the movie Nacho Libre you will understand!
The parents of some students took us all out for a meal at the weekend which was really fun. It was an all you could eat buffet, and being the poor teachers that we are we made the most of it!! They are lovely people and it was a good chance to practice our Spanish... This weekend one of my students is having a party on his ranch so that should be fun too! Mexicans really like to party…
Anyway we have lots of planning to do so best go... send us some messages with your news please!!
