Where I stayed
Hostal Colonial
Santa Clara is set up as a tourist Mecca to Che Guevara. The Che memorial and Tren Blindado museum are really interesting but the rest of the city is pretty noisy and we werenīt really that taken with it (although I think our judgement might have been a little coloured by the fact that we were missing Trinidad).
We stayed in a beautiful Colonial house right off the central park run by a really friendly Cuban called Antonio. We spent some interesting evenings with him trying to practice our Spanish and although he speaks no English he was so helpful by speaking clearly and slowly that we managed to get on together perfectly.
