Our extra full day in Cairo gave us time to see some of Cairo's less famous, yet still spectacular sights that we hadn't yet had a chance to visit.  We decided to visit Islamic Cairo, the part of the city most highly concentrated with some of Cairo's most important Islamic sights and some of the most beautiful mosques.  We wandered around the massive citadel which contains multiple important mosques and palaces.  We also visited Cairo's famous shuk, Khan Khalili.  We only went partially down the main street and saw almost anything you could imagine being sold at a market!  Almost every vendor we passed tried to lure us into shopping at their store in a variety of languages until we would finally respond or get far enough away.  David was able to purchase a classy bright orange camel shirt, an excellent buy, and we were able to experience the intensity of shopping in Khan Khalili!

Our two other highlights of the day were relaxing on the grounds of Cairo's opera house, a really beautiful place with live opera music, and our sunset felucca (like a sail boat) ride on the Nile.

It was a great last day in Egypt, but we were definitely ready to go back to Israel by the time our flight finally left Cairo at 3 AM!

What an amazing trip!

Hello to Amy and David
Just wanted to say hi and tell you that while we were in England and Scotland...every town little or large that we went to had a Starbucks(I had a $5.00 gift card from home that they would not take!?) MacDonalds and also Woolworth's (I found it weird that no other fast food, and coffee chains seem to have infiltrated the UK. Have you seen any others??)
Sounds like you are having a great trip..Keep those photos coming and do not forget to take lots of photos of Viet Nam and Cambodia. Be prepared to discuss with Reb.
Love Joanne
