Thanks to the guidance given by the tourist info girl I managed a 7 mile run this morning without getting lost! Woo hoo!
We had been advised to go up to the provincial "Manning Park" for trails and sightseeing. We had been told that forest fires in Northern USA were causing a smoke haze in the park and they weren't wrong! Unfortunately we recently heard on the news that those fires have now spread in to Canada (nowhere near us - before parents worry!). We opted to do a trail along the Lightening, Flash, Strike and Thunder lakes (can you see where they were going with those names? :-) ). It was a great trail, very picturesque with some great sites over the lakes. It was longer than we anticipated though and 4.5 hours later we were both relieved to see the car!!
The smoke was clearing by the time we drove back so hopefully it won't be too bad in Vancouver tomorrow.
We will be trying to get a table at a very busy restaurant this evening on recommendation from the tourist information. If not it's back to that pub again!!...
