Where I stayed
Back in Iquitos at Mike´s bunkhouse
Our last morning in the jungle!
Again we started out before breakfast and today it was a walk in search of Anacondas. Took an hour or so of walking but we then came across a pool of muddy water where sensing our prescene an anaconda dived into the water! That is about as close as I would want to get in the wild to one having felt how strong they were at the animal sanctuary. Back to the lodge for brekky.
Post-breaky we went to find the river dolphins. Slightly down river from where we were stating we found both the grey and pink river dolphins! They circled our boat and came up for air all around us, there were quite a few of them. Though unlike sea doplhins they come up for air and breath without jumping out of the water, more like a human would I guess. We were also suprised to find that the pink one in particular was alittle bit ugly! But again incredible to see the animals in the wild. Edwin completed the trip by putting his head underwater to talk to the dolphins; inspired and a total failure.
Lunch was catfish again and we headed back to iquitos. The boat upstream to Nauta took a lot longer than the way down indicating the strength of the current. Back in iquitos we stayed at Mad Mike`s Bunkhouse and had alligator for dinner. Different to caiman and a little firmer in texture.
The jungle was everything and more than we had hoped for and we had seen so many awsome animals on the 3day trip! Would definitely recommend doing a jungle trip if you can.
